Prettie Girl

I admired the One World Doll Project from afar, resisting the doll only because her foot size and figure shape would be new in my lineup and I wasn't sure I was up for the challenge of clothes and shoes. Well, I caved. I simply couldn't resist the Cynthia Bailey collectible doll. Her hair is magnificent! Also, I had the pleasure of reading roxannesdolls excellent blog review, and after seeing Prettie Girl’s impressive derrière I was smitten.

A few likes and dislikes I will mention.

Low points also for her not being able to sit with her legs closed. Unladylike!

Fashion.

As I stated, Prettie Girl has a most impressive derrière. Actually, it’s glorious! Whatever deficits she has, the excellence of her butt more than makes up for them.

So, she’s in the house and apparently she was on the same wave length as me because the first thing she wanted to know was how I planned to dress and shoe her. Her expectations were obvious - she would not tolerate make-do stretchy fashions or Ken shoes. Of course not!

“How”, she wondered, “will I be outfitted for a day at the office?”
(Shani size Babs skirt, Babs blouse, Liv Doll shoes)

“What about,” she inquired, “weekend attire – pretty, yet casual enough for house cleaning?”
(AF shorts; Liv doll top; Flat Foot Babs shoes)

“And, what if I wanted to strut on down to the dépanneur,” she inquired, “dressed in something designed to catch the eye of the opposite sex?”
(AF top and shorts by SLDoll; AF boots)

“If I catch the eye of a handsome guy and it leads to a date, do you have something
sure to impress?” she wanted to know.
(AF dress by La Boutique; AF Miss Fear shoes (repainted))

“Then,” she added, “if the date went well and we started to hang out, like at the beach, do you have a bikini for me?”
(AF bikini by Sushi Street; Liv sandals)

“Soooo…” she challenged, “if I wanted to fill my nights with romantic dreams, what sexy thing could I wear to bed?”
(As long as it’s just dreams, I suppose AF lingerie)

“Then, of course,” she added, “I would want to share my dreams with my besties, so what would I wear on a night out with them?”
(Spinmaster Jacket; Clear Lan tee; AF skirt by SLDoll; Star Doll boots; Gucci handbag by POM)

“Après….” She began…
“Whoa!” I stopped her. “Enough already!”

“One more!” she demanded. Just because that’s how dollies are.
(Clear Lan tee; AF slacks by La Boutique; Star Doll shoes)

So yes, Prettie Girl, aka Ms. Rocsi Nwosu, is in the house.
And she’s here to stay. (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥

Cheers!

  1. Hi, wow, she can wear anything, what a fabulous lady! These dolls are so great, I like her derrière also, and her hair :-). You have found many fabulous outfits and shoes for her to wear! Ah, dolls, so demanding, but don't you love that about them :-)!

  2. I cannot tell you how glad I am to see this post. First of all, congrats on successfully outfitting Ms. Rocsi Nwosu. She is FAB! I ordered this same doll a few weeks ago. She hasn't arrived yet, but I've been going back and forth with myself about whether to keep her or sell her. Your post has definitely got me leaning toward keep.

    1. I hope you feel the love when she arrives. I really like the company’s mission and hope they get enough support so they can improve the doll with things like articulated wrists.

I agree with you, she has an incredible derriere!

  4. Congrats! I am thoroughly impressed that she has a full wardrobe already. My 'big butt' girls are still wardrobe challenged. It's great to see they can wear Liv shoes. Now if I could just remember where I put those Liv shoes. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous lady with us.

    1. Oh, I do hope you find your Liv shoes, they are the best fit, imo. I’m a shoe fan so never throw any out, but I have to admit to having to do a massive hunt to find the bag holding all my odd sized ones, including the Liv shoes.

  5. You had nothing to worry about your found outfits just as cute as she is! Now I want one...

  6. This is the first review I've seen of the Cynthia Bailey doll, I think. I wish they had better arms and knee joints, but apart from that she looks lovely. Good to know there are a few shoe options out there too.

    1. Thanks so much. I’m with you, wish those arms sat straight, and wish the legs would close when she’s seated. But, ah, the rest of her is sooooooooo nice. :D

  7. Oh wow, you're killing me. I've been able to resist until now. I agree, the derrière is very impressive. I can even deal with the feet, just disappointed with the non-articulate wrist but she's super gorgeous and I think I can get over it.

Thanks for posting! Now...off to decide if I want this girl or the Valencia version. :-)

    1. I love Valencia! I at first was also on the fence between her and Cynthia (Rocsi). I might still get Valencia cos Rocsi needs a sister, right? ヅ Dying to know which one you chose.

    1. Thanks so much. I have a feeling she’s going to push for more. Have you ever noticed with dollies it’s all about “more…more…more… me…me…me…? LOL!

  9. She is so adorable in all of these ensembles! The way that you've posed her here minimizes the unfortunate way that her arms do not rest against her body. Thanks for the mention!

    1. Thanks for noticing her poses… it’s a small way to get around those, as you say, unfortunate arms. Your review was extraordinarily good. I love that you included so many comparison photos; it lets folks know exactly what they’re in for.

  10. Great doll! I have the first 2 Prettie Girl dolls (Lena and Valencia) and I ordered the Cynthia Baily doll and the other 2 dolls from the Zulily sale. I love what you did with her clothes, but another good fit for these dolls are the clothes from the Mixis line. They are also extremely well made. I also downloaded some of their clothing patterns so I can make some clothes for these dolls too. (I also have some Mixis dolls). The Mixis shoes are also a good fit for the Prettie Girls feet, so this gives a whole other set of wardrobe options.

    1. Oh, you are a good doll guardian! You've got their clothing and shoes all sussed out…and you’re even going to sew for them?! Wish I wasn't such rubbish at sewing. Rocsi got some of the AF skirts I sewed years ago out of desperation, but she wasn't impressed. Your prettie girls must be sooooooooo happy to be in your house. Will any of them be living in the Gordon’s’ home?

  11. I enjoyed this review. I have two Cynthia Bailey dolls. One is deboxed; the other remains NRFB. I have no plans to redress mine. It is good to know whose clothing and shoes fit her in the event this changes.

    1. I’m considering a second CB doll, too. I always debox but a second would allow me to play outrageously with the hair. I enjoy your blog.

  12. Whoa! These dollies are so stressfull! But also a fun! Great post! I'd like to pick one Prettie Girl doll, but shipping is too expensive to Italy

    1. Rocsi has given me hours of playful fun. I’m so sad to hear expensive shipping to Italy excludes her from your collection. I can identify with you - since moving to a different country a few years ago I've had the painful experience of high shipping costs and the sting of import fees. It does make one think twice about a purchase. I must mention, OW did a great job of shipping – fast and well packaged with no import fees.

  14. I love your review. She is the one doll I passed on and bought the other four that were available. Your review and outfits is making me rethink that decision.

If you don't mind, what does 'AF' stand for? Thank you.

  15. WOW! I just love the outfits! I would like to have this doll too. I only have Lena. I do have a few Liv shoes but thought they would be too wide. I had to smile at the silver lame at the office. I wish you could purchase their shoes from them.

    1. Thanks, Ms. Leo. I was pretty surprised myself that Liv shoes fit her - I think it was the purple and silver ones that account for the silver lame. Girls like to match. *snort*

  16. Wow, what a wardrobe she has, now! Love, love her fashions. Thanks for stating what pieces you used. (Just curious, but what is "AF?" Probably really obvious, but off-the-top-of-my-head, can't think who/what that is)

Ms. Rocsi Nwosu is off to a good start, fashion-wise, but I can tell she's a Roville gal by her dress - fabulous!

Thanks for the review and the photos. Would you mind if I pinned some of her photos on my Prettie Girls Pinterest board? Thanks, either way.
