Love Revolution DG Cruz and Auden

Love Revolution DG Cruz and Auden arrived yesterday. I had to step back and ask myself, do male dolls in color coordinated, unusual fashions belong in my homme collection? I think the definitive answer to that is yes, yes they do, but then I posed the question, does this particular pair’s highly color coordinated precious looking fashions count? No, no they don’t.

I’m not going to knock these fashions. I respect the IT designers’ talent, and I respect others’ right to dig these duds. And let’s face it, coordinating colors is a tricky business. But the fact remains that too much of a good thing can result in something more clownish than dapper, and in this case there just aren't enough masculine touches to suit the tastes of my girls which, coincidentally, happen to coincide with mine. *smiles*

I’m not claiming any skills when it comes to mixing and matching men’s clothing, and I admit to not being consistent at achieving a color-savvy style, but I had to at least give it a shot with this pair. So here they are redressed and boufy hair somewhat tamed.

I am not a fan of side-glancers, so I retouched Cruz’s eyes. I think he has wonky eyes now, but never mind, it’s not sealed and I will either swipe it and give it another try or go back to the original. I also added subtle definition to his beard.

In the meantime, he can wear sun-glasses and maybe join a cool band.

Maybe he can be the lead singer!

And even have groupies… ha-ha!

Okay, I’ll stop now.

Cheers!  ◔◡◔≦

  1. Both of these guys are cool. The sunglasses definitely make a difference! It is weird...it looked like his mouth expression changed once he had on the glasses. LOL I didn't see the eye wonkiness either. Your set-ups are fantastic. I like the band room the best though. I think the woman in denim dances the best. LOL

    1. I saw that too (the mouth). I guess it’s true what they say, accessories make a difference. But not always in a good way. LOL

  2. Ohhh I like! I tried to get these guys, but they were sold out so fast! I see them starting to appear on the secondary market now, but not sure I can afford them -- maybe one??? We will have to see. Maybe next year I will have to try to join the W club!

    1. The secondary market was my prompt to get them while I could. I was on the fence about them but decided better safe than sorry. It will be nice to see you in the WClub. ツ

  4. Why do dolls always look better once they move to Roville? Great improvements.

  5. They look much better, Ro! Congratulations on getting them. You did a good job giving them a more earthy vibe ;-)

I did not realize that Auden had such an interesting hair style. Hmmm ... Thanks for sharing!

    1. “Interesting” is generous. LOL I bet your Joes turned off the sports channel long enough to sit back and have a good laugh. (>‿◠)

  6. I agree with you 100% and felt the same about what my Auden was wearing. In fact, I gave his white star belt to my girls. ;) I saved back his earring for future piercings and the rest is set to be sold. I like what you did with Auden's hair. I'm teetering on a full blown re-root. I really love him as a blonde though. Decisions....decisions... (^_^)

Oh and your finished fashions are awesome. Where did you get those shoes?!? <3

    1. We are on the same page, Cat. That belt left me speechless. I don’t know any man, gay or straight, who would wear such a thing. Since clothing for homme is expensive and hard to come by I’ll hold onto the jeans, though the white stitching will be a challenge. The tank will work for beach wear.

I also like Auden as a blonde. If you decide on the full re-root I’d love to see the results.

The shoes I've had for years; they’re AF, probably picked up on an auction site.

  8. Congrats on your awesome purchases! I love Cruz! I'm not a fan of side-glancers either. You're so lucky and talented to be able to repaint their faces. :-)

    1. The side-glancers are a problem for photo-stories, aren’t they? I bet your folks in Moreville have asked you not to get any for the same reason folks in Roville have ask me. It’s hard to deliver a line to someone who won’t look them in the face. Ha-ha!

  9. Wow congrats! i wanted to get these boys but they sold out so quickly! I like what you did with the eyes. Some dolls do look good with a side glace but some..well don't. Great post

  10. I agree with you, Will. Side-glancers can look very nice. The reason I am not a fan is because my dollies have to go to work when they arrive, and they can’t be looking off in another direction when they deliver a line. (>‿◠)

J'aime vraiment comment ils sont habillés. Ou avez-vous acheté les vêtements ???

    1. Merci, Shasarignis. Je suis heureux que vous aimez les vêtements. Auden et Cruz portent des vêtements réalisés par Clear Lan.

  12. Sexy, sexy. What a difference a "Ro" makes! lol. They look so manly now. You even made the crazy blonde hair do look great. I like it much better from the front than I do from the side, though. But now, he's such a cutie. I can't stand it. He looks like a college kid, though. DG Cruz can pass for one of the Bee Gees now. Must be the guitar and the glasses.
