Prettie Girl

I admired the One World Doll Project from afar, resisting the doll only because her foot size and figure shape would be new in my lineup and I wasn't sure I was up for the challenge of clothes and shoes. Well, I caved. I simply couldn't resist the Cynthia Bailey collectible doll. Her hair is magnificent! Also, I had the pleasure of reading roxannesdolls excellent blog review, and after seeing Prettie Girl’s impressive derrière I was smitten.

A few likes and dislikes I will mention.

Low points also for her not being able to sit with her legs closed. Unladylike!

Fashion.

As I stated, Prettie Girl has a most impressive derrière. Actually, it’s glorious! Whatever deficits she has, the excellence of her butt more than makes up for them.

So, she’s in the house and apparently she was on the same wave length as me because the first thing she wanted to know was how I planned to dress and shoe her. Her expectations were obvious - she would not tolerate make-do stretchy fashions or Ken shoes. Of course not!

“How”, she wondered, “will I be outfitted for a day at the office?”
(Shani size Babs skirt, Babs blouse, Liv Doll shoes)

“What about,” she inquired, “weekend attire – pretty, yet casual enough for house cleaning?”
(AF shorts; Liv doll top; Flat Foot Babs shoes)

“And, what if I wanted to strut on down to the dépanneur,” she inquired, “dressed in something designed to catch the eye of the opposite sex?”
(AF top and shorts by SLDoll; AF boots)

“If I catch the eye of a handsome guy and it leads to a date, do you have something
sure to impress?” she wanted to know.
(AF dress by La Boutique; AF Miss Fear shoes (repainted))

“Then,” she added, “if the date went well and we started to hang out, like at the beach, do you have a bikini for me?”
(AF bikini by Sushi Street; Liv sandals)

“Soooo…” she challenged, “if I wanted to fill my nights with romantic dreams, what sexy thing could I wear to bed?”
(As long as it’s just dreams, I suppose AF lingerie)

“Then, of course,” she added, “I would want to share my dreams with my besties, so what would I wear on a night out with them?”
(Spinmaster Jacket; Clear Lan tee; AF skirt by SLDoll; Star Doll boots; Gucci handbag by POM)

“Après….” She began…
“Whoa!” I stopped her. “Enough already!”

“One more!” she demanded. Just because that’s how dollies are.
(Clear Lan tee; AF slacks by La Boutique; Star Doll shoes)

So yes, Prettie Girl, aka Ms. Rocsi Nwosu, is in the house.
And she’s here to stay. (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥

Cheers!

GONE WITH THE WIND SCARLETT O'HARA BARBIE

Scarlett Katie O’Hara
Label: Black
Body Type: Shani
Skin Tone: Nostalgic
Facial Sulpt: Scarlett

I've read Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With The Wind five times and seen the 1939 movie just about as often but I never previously bought a Scarlett O'Hara doll because I’m not nostalgic when it comes to dolls. And I am not, in general, fond of period dolls. But I did admire the Scarlett sculpt of Mattel’s two 2014 Scarlett Katie O'Hara dolls. They have lovely green eyes and vaguely resemble the beautiful Vivian Leigh. I purchased both the Gold Label doll ($80) and Black Label doll ($34) and surprisingly found myself more enamored with the less expensive one. I've set about modernizing her so she can fit in better around here.

Guess I better hurry along and get her over to the local spa for some beauty treatments.

Cheers!

Love Revolution DG Cruz and Auden

Love Revolution DG Cruz and Auden arrived yesterday. I had to step back and ask myself, do male dolls in color coordinated, unusual fashions belong in my homme collection? I think the definitive answer to that is yes, yes they do, but then I posed the question, does this particular pair’s highly color coordinated precious looking fashions count? No, no they don’t.

I’m not going to knock these fashions. I respect the IT designers’ talent, and I respect others’ right to dig these duds. And let’s face it, coordinating colors is a tricky business. But the fact remains that too much of a good thing can result in something more clownish than dapper, and in this case there just aren't enough masculine touches to suit the tastes of my girls which, coincidentally, happen to coincide with mine. *smiles*

I’m not claiming any skills when it comes to mixing and matching men’s clothing, and I admit to not being consistent at achieving a color-savvy style, but I had to at least give it a shot with this pair. So here they are redressed and boufy hair somewhat tamed.

I am not a fan of side-glancers, so I retouched Cruz’s eyes. I think he has wonky eyes now, but never mind, it’s not sealed and I will either swipe it and give it another try or go back to the original. I also added subtle definition to his beard.

In the meantime, he can wear sun-glasses and maybe join a cool band.

Maybe he can be the lead singer!

And even have groupies… ha-ha!

Okay, I’ll stop now.

Cheers!  ◔◡◔≦
