Mommie Dearest Let Your Hair Down

Turn my back for one second…

Good job, girls! I think MD may stay.

Cheers!

  4. She looks so natrual with her hair let down. Not much like Joan Crawford at all, though like Arna said, she'll be a tad self absorbed about herself.

    1. I couldn't see a resemblance to Crawford. She uses the Dania sculpt and that’s the reason I wanted her. Plus I was dying to inspect the new quick switch system, which, I might add, is an awesome neck design improvement.

  5. Wow! She's gorgeous! Great makeover. She looks so much softer, more natural and less stiff upper lipish. I think she should stay in Roville. I'd offer to bring her to Moreville, but I have to stick to my budget! LOL :-)

  6. That doll is supposed to Joan Crawford?! I mean, she's gorgeous, but not Joan Crawford.

    1. I know, right! All I saw was Dania, which is one of my fav sculpts.

  7. hahah! Awesome. "You must never touch coat hanger. Not ever!" She is looking really beautiful. Question. The other head with the facial masque: could one remove that with a little acetone facial?

    1. No, acetone won't help the cold cream sculpt. The entire head is all white and it is the brown parts that have actually been painted on.

  8. Gah!!! You're making me want one... and also, your subtle facial expression changes are just perfect :)

    1. Thanks, Heather. I don't have an interest in character dolls so if I buy one for the sculpt, she gets a makeover to make her more appealing to me. I was happy to get the set, though. The cold cream face will come in handy for some spa dios (lol!) and I like the robe and shoes, plus the black skirt is a versatile wardrobe piece.

  9. Man that helps her a lot. She looks wonderful.

I keep thinking about picking her up, and this does help to see how she can look with her hair redone/or even rerooted.

    1. Thanks, Liz. She has so much going for her. I like her forward-looking eyes and neutral makeup palette, so easy to work with. The Dania sculpt is gorgeous, imo, so all she needed was a new hairstyle and a change of clothes to bring her to modern loveliness.

  10. Beautiful! Your girls are pretty talented at make-overs. I have to say I'm very distracted by those adorable mini-blue baskets on the shelf back there! Love it!

    1. Gosh, Tabitha, you're just like me - dio accessories always catch my eye, too. I can't recall where the baskets came from, but probably My Scene playsets.

  12. MD is really rockin that new hairdo AND that adorable floral dress. I love the faces on the wall ... unique and fitting setting. Nice of the FR gals to help MD stay. Some dolls would grab her fashion and let her go.

  13. Another nice makeover! How did you do her hair? Is it a re-root or just a boil perm?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's a boil perm. The hair is trimmed a little strangely in back, but thank goodness no bald spots.

  16. Great transformation!!!! What do you think of the head swap function?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The quick switch function is brilliant. In theory. I had no problem pulling off MD’s head, but the new head I put on the body seems a tighter fit. I’ll probably have to heat the neck to remove it. Which makes me think, if I am back to heating necks, what’s the point. I am waiting to hear the experience of others.

  17. I love your sense of humor! And your restylings. I am going to remember that line about egotists not talking about others. MD looks so much better with her hair down and I like the fashion you chose for her. Can't wait to hear what Harper has to say about all of this.

    1. Oodles of thanks. Right now I am crossing my fingers that Harper is still busy with her IKEA room to have an opinion. Would you cross your fingers for me, too, please?

  19. Great makeover! She is really a beautiful doll - just a shame about the packaging as a child abuser:'( because she is a lovely doll with great accessories (except the wire hanger...) Looks like you solved it so perfectly! I have a feeling we'll see a lot of MDs with their hair down;)
