Golden Girl

No new dollies to report. It feels good to just be playing with a dolly who has been hanging around a while. (◕‿◕)

I chose All White Now Colette to do a little redressing. She was
stunning in her original white dress and bra, but with her warm skin tone and tawny hair, she shimmers equally beautifully in golden hues.

Colette is wearing a sweater and skirt by Clear-Lan, a FR bracelet,
shoes by ravenshaman, and earrings I picked up at the dollar store (yes, $1.00 earrings, but don’t tell Colette that. Ha-ha!).

Cheers!

  1. Your right on that! It's good to play with a doll you already have, even though getting a new doll is pretty nice too. The warms hues flatter Colette and have a very subtle brightness to them. And now some of my girls are looking over my shoulder, demanding that they be redressed too LOL.

  5. Love her. I have to redress her again. Once I fixed her hair her beauty shows even more. I'm so glad I picked her up during convention.

She looks fabulous :O) I pick up the dollar earrings too for my ladies but that's a secret here ;o)

    1. I agree with you, her hair did need fixing to showcase her loveliness. So happy for you that you were able to pick your Colette up at the convention, the secondary market prices got challenging. And yeah, let’s keep our little earrings secret safe from the dollies. hee-hee...

  6. I love her and her ensemble! She is one of only two FR females that I own. I started collecting the guys I liked first! Lol I really like her hair in your photos. Is been considering washing it and now I'm sire I will. Also, I've just discovered clear lan...do you like the quality of their clothes? I'm considering placing an order.

    1. You made a good choice with All White Now, one of the loveliest dolls at the convention, imho. You’ll like her even more after you wash her hair, I almost guarantee it. :)

What I like about Clear-Lan, beside the budget friendly prices, is that the garments fit snugly without being tight. The sewing is almost flawless. The garments are not lined, but there doesn't seem to be any problems with seams unraveling (makes me wonder what they treat the seams with and if it’s an inert product). They also use Velcro, which I am not a fan of, but it is thin scale Velcro so I have opted not to replace it with snaps. Overall, the clothes are good value for the money. Be prepared to wait a while for your order, though. About two months. It’s an agonizing wait for my dolls and their impatience gets on my nerves. ;)

    2. Thank you! I'll go ahead and place my order. By the way, I love this room. All your dioramas are so detailed. You're truly gifted.

  8. I have a Checked Out Colette bought naked. Actualy she's wearing a Renegade Dasha outfit, but I was looking for something else for her and your post comes very handful for me. I discovered Clean Lan last week and they have gorgeous outfits, I think I'm doing shopping on their website soon :-)
That room is stunning, I'd like to have one!

  11. She's absolutely gorgeous! And I really love the "boom boom room" she's in! LOL Where do you get all the little things for your dios? Do you make them all or do you purchase them from somewhere? I try to make most of the stuff for my dios, but it takes forever, which is why Casey's isn't open yet! LOL :-)

    2. Awwww, thanks, Cindi, you’re such a sweetie. I crafted the room and it’s pretty simple. Structure is foamcore and craft wood. Cutting and framing doorways is time consuming but so worth it for added realism. The fireplace is a photo frame with a printie inserted. The fire screen is a curved acrylic photo frame. The sofa was made by Weaver’s Upholstery. The side table is a drawer organizer with dowel legs. The artwork is photos cut from magazines. The floor is contact paper. Now get to work on Casey’s. No more excuses. ;)

  12. Lovely Colette! She's my second favorite FR character, after Erin. I needs one. Also, I love the rabbit-fur rug! That's one of those '*face-palm* Why didn't I think of that?!' moments. I use rabbit pelts as blankets - mostly for my Monster High dolls, but Skwisgaar gets a fur bed, too.

( I like to practice my face-painting on Monster High dolls. I used to think they were ugly but they've grown on me. )

    1. You've mentioned my favorite sculpts. Love Colette, and the refreshed Erin is beyond gorgeous. I am also crazy about Giselle and hope to eventually get Agnes. I’d love to see Nadja make another appearance because I adore her, too. But I want all the dolls that I’m interested in to have forward looking eyes.

I was reading your MH girls this morning. Harrr-leer-rious! “He’s still in the maul, isn't he?” ha-ha! And “don’t be hatin’.” Those girls are wonderful. Did you make the room? The walls and lighting are fabulous.

    2. The room is actually a very deep shelf in my entertainment center. That's why the little lamp is up top. I like the dim, intimate atmosphere it gives off.

Thanks for sharing your diorama tips. The fireplace looks warm and cozy ;-)

  15. Love how you have her dressed! I need to take mine out - wash that hair - and get her redressed pronto! She looks fantastic in those colors - you have such a casual ease with your styling on the girls that live with you. They always look chic and comfortable. I admire that and am inspired by it!

  16. The clothing is really fabulous, that's obvious, but what keep me speachless is the apartment! It's so so perfect! Lava lamp, floor, paintings, table lamp, fur, flowers, oh God, I could go on and on with listing things that I love from those picture!
