Integrity Toys 2013 Spring Collection

Last Saturday the very bubbly Carol Roth welcomed WClub members to Integrity Toy’s first 2013 on-line event for the unveiling of their spring collections (more unveilings are expected during the year).

David Buttry presented the Dynamite Girls (and boys) ‘London Calling’ collection. Seems like the kids were off holidaying in England, all decked out in youthful and very hip wintry fashions.

IT’s Marketing Director, Alain Tremblay, presented The Holograms from the Jem and the Holograms line. I know nothing about the TV show except the extraordinary hair color disqualifies the dolls for me.

Chris Toeckel presented the Funny Face line. A new character doll was introduced, and a bevy of the most iconic fashions of the 50’s were a feast for the eyes. The gift sets are lavish!

  • Take the Picture - Poppy Parker body (with kitten heel foot) and the original Vanessa Perrin head sculpt.
  • Think Pink - Monogram body (with Victoire Roux legs) and the Imogen head sculpt
  • Quality Woman - Victoire Roux body
  • Oh How to be Lovely - Poppy Parker body and the new Veronique Perrin sculpt
  • Bonjour, Paris - Poppy Parker body and the original Veronique Perrin sculpt
  • A Woman Who Thinks - Monogram body (with Victoire Roux legs) and the Anja head sculpt
  • Let’s Kiss and Make up (Club Lottery Doll) Poppy Parker body and the closed mouth Vanessa Perrin (2nd edition) head sculpt.
For fans of 16 inch dolls, Tulabelle is interesting. She is the grand-daughter of Poppy Parker. She is an on-line fashion blogger who has inherited fashions from her famous grand-mother, so her style is eclectic, to say the least.

Lots of lovely, albeit budget busting, choices for everyone's taste.

Barbie Look Wardrobe et Ma Petite Chaise (No. 10)

Designed by: Bill Greening
Release Date: Nov 2012
Retail Price: $69.00

Just received the Barbie Look wardrobe. I wanted four to create a walk-in effect, but two is all I could justify in terms of budget and storage.

Even at two, are they worth it? Heck yeah!

They are tall, lightweight but sturdy, have working drawers and come with three wallpaper options (clever design - wallpaper holds securely). Other accessories are 10 shirt hangers and 5 pant hangers.

I’m very impressed with the wardrobe. Thumbs up, Mattel!

Temperly Sexton (a former Nu.Face LWP Giselle) is moving into the Forest House and is happy with her en suite bedroom with walk-in, so I’ve asked her to demo the closet for you.

Ma Petite Chaise No. 10
(La Chaise by Eames)

When Eames entered La Chaise into the Museum of Modern Art’s International Competition in 1948 it created a buzz for its advancement in fiberglass free form molding designed to hug the human form. The dramatic gesture of this chair still raises eyebrows today and looks fresh juxtaposing both retro and modern décor in any room of one’s home.

1:1 scale La Chaise by Eames sells for $10,000, and a replica for around $1000. Ma petite 1:6 scale chaise is a Vitra Miniature, runs around $300, and can be picked up on-line at various design retailers.
Watch for bargains on auction sites – Ro was able to score hers in 2009 for $127.

Rio Pacheco (Purple Hair Begone!)

Jem and the Holograms is an American animated television series that ran from 1985 to 1988 in the U.S.

In 2012 Integrity Toys released character dolls from the series. I have never seen the show and thus have no sentiment and consequently no yearning to acquire Jem and her female friends.

I love l’homme, though, so Rio Pacheco, Jem’s boyfriend, was a given. Problem is, I looked at his gorgeous face online and promptly did the frantic rush to order thingy without realizing he has purple hair. ACK!

Purple Hair Begone!

WARNING: Using permanent marker to color doll hair carries a high risk of staining the doll’s vinyl. I am NOT recommending this method. Re-rooting Rio is much safer option for getting rid of his purple hair. However, what is done is done and I thought I’d share what Rio looks like with black hair.

I’ve really enjoyed Rio’s appearance on my homme shelf. His chiseled features, blue eyes that hold a steady gaze beneath slightly hooded lids, and full lips guarantee just the right of amount of good old-fashioned man candy.

Now, can anyone recommend a good re-rooter?
