Ma Petite Chaise (No. 8)

Le Corbusier petit modèle

Created for the 1929 Lifestyle Exhibition in Paris, the Le Corbusier armchair is compact with highly dense seating and a cube shaped body with a cut out for seating. Its smaller size makes it the perfect seating where space is limited.

It has a matching 3-seater sofa for a complete and sophisticated living room solution.
My 1:6 scale chair is part of Horsman’s Urban Environment. The chair and sofa come in either black or white. I purchased the white set in 2010 for $75/chair and $95/sofa from MFD. (As a side note, if you are interested in Horsman’s 1:6 scale furniture, their tubular chair (Wassily Chair) is woefully out of scale, imho).

…grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

  1. hahah. Harper never disappoints. I love this Horsman chair. I bought the tubular chairs and I agree, they are enormous! Maybe the FR Hommes will finally have somewhere to sit?

  2. I have a few Horsman furniture and they are really lovely - just a bit pricey!
Really love your overall decor - so creative and put together nicely! :)

    1. I agree, the price is a bit steep. I never bought the black set because the price forced me to choose. What pieces did you get?

  3. That Harper is a hoot! I think she deserves her own show. ;)

Love the apartment, I could look at that view for hours! The Le Corbusier is very chic and contemporary, love it. I've always like it best in white. :)

    1. I was drawn to the white, too. The black would work well for les hommes and perhaps in an office environment, but my girls, and their feminine taste, always win.

Harper is now looking for an agent. Thanks a lot, Tracy! *snort*

Harper is her usual classy arrogant yet hilarious self!

    1. Thanks so much. The apartment was built for another dolly so there was some small consolation that Harper left with insults rather than demands.

  7. Ah, the return of Harper! Cheers and foot stomping and hand clapping resound throughout the room here. (Wow, she has gal fans as well as the guys.)

Nice chair and beautiful setting. (Harper really has an eye for dressing for her settings.) That animal head on the wall ... is that cloth? Very clever. Love the woodsy scene beyond the window. The couch, the plant by the window - the whole deal ;-D

And Harper's hair looks great and the Timm Gunn dress very chic. Love the white flag waved at the end, too.

    1. I have a feeling Harper is sneaking into my office when I’m not looking just to check on feedback, because she is now looking for an agent (I have developed a slight tremor in my hands). I take a little bit of mean satisfaction knowing she’s going to have a much harder time finding her royal crown – her head has grown fat! ha-ha!

The animal head is hard material. I found it at a Hobby Lobby in Utah on a display rack of western deco accessories. It has a place on the back designed for hanging on a wall. I thought, who would hang such a small piece on their 1:1 wall? It would never be seen! Obviously better suited for a 1:6 wall, I thought. And so goes the 1:6er’s justifications for purchasing . . .

Always a pleasure to have you stop by, D.

  12. Harper is so talented in so many ways...modeling, beautiful, perfect comedic timing, sassy and stealing credit cards bigger than herself...oh wait that is probably not a talent. Amazing job on the room and hope to see more of the Tim Gunn collections cause I'm sure Harper didn't buy just one outfit, right?
